Guest Post: Nook Simple Touch Review

This is a guest review by ISU student Joe Mayer.

So after years of holding out on picking up an e-reader, I finally caved in and bought a Nook Simple Touch last December. Honestly this was one of the best hundred dollars I’ve ever spent; in fact, I think it’s so awesome that I wanted to write about it. Let me first make it clear that I do not intend for this to be a “which product is better” article comparing the Nook to the Kindle, because there are already enough posts like that on the internet. The Best In-Ear Monitors For Students

Alright, I get it. There are those of you who are willing to suffer for fashion. Getting a bit warm? Too bad. That sexy pea ain’t gonna show off to the ladies by itself. It’s really slushy out? Tough luck, bro. The $400 Florsheims you bought back in August refuse to spend another day in the closet. Read More…

Guest Post: 10 Crucial Kitchen Tools For Dorm Cooking

Going off on your own for the first time can seem overpowering. The last thing you want to think about is how you’re going to feed yourself. Although most universities provide a cafeteria, in the long run that’s not very tempting, and eating at a restaurant every day gets expensive. But what do you need to be able to cook on your own? Here are a few necessities for tasty dorm cooking. Read More…

The Best Headphones For Students: Broke-Ass Edition

If you couldn’t tell, I’m a bit a of a music junkie. I’m always on the lookout for new bands, and I love blasting my favorites over my 5.1 system. However, it’s a sad fact of life that other people don’t always want to listen to the same music, so last year I went looking for some good headphones to invest in. Well, that little quest turned out to be quite the rabbit hole… Read More…

Shopping for College: A No-Nonsense Approach to Fashion

You’d think one should come away from reading such blogs feeling inspired, but I usually feel boring, poor, and too busy to look like all the people in those pictures and ads.

4 Resources For Fashion-Forward Students (+1 Bonus)

A week ago, Sean Quinn wrote a cool post over at HackCollege on how to dress in order to not look like a silly freshman. Some things he said to avoid were the double school logo faux pas, socks and sandals, cargo pants, and lanyards. Of course, simply avoiding bad fashion trends will only make you look like everyone else. What if you want to turn heads? (and not in the I-Haven’t-Showered-In-Six-Weeks kind of way)

Fortunately, you’re reading College Info Geek, and we’ve got some resources for you. You may not think a site that publishes tutorials on dual-booting computers and Pokemon albums would be able to write about style, but do not be deceived; unbeknownst to those of you who do not see me on a daily basis, I am in fact a fashion savant. Is This The Best Webcam Ever?

Last night I got a couple packages in the mail. One of them was my copy of Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection (that’s right, bros), and the other was a webcam I ordered. This isn’t just any webcam, though; this is the Logitech C910 Pro HD Webcam. Read More…
