The Complete List of Video Game Soundtracks on Spotify

So, you’re a gamer and you love listening to game soundtracks. You probably know the best places to get your game soundtrack fix – YouTube for official stuff, and OverClocked Remix for the remixes. But what about Spotify?

I switched over to using Spotify as my main music player a few months ago, due to its huge library, ease of use, and awesome mobile app. However, one of the things I noticed was that I couldn’t find a lot of my favorite video game soundtracks in the Spotify library. Maybe you’ve noticed the same thing.

I’ll come out and say it: Spotify is missing quite a few prominent video game soundtracks – particularly anything Japanese. However, that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in the game soundtrack department. On the contrary – it’s got quite the selection.

I spent more hours than I care to divulge looking for video game soundtracks on Spotify – what resulted is this playlist. I’ll make a bold claim here – this is the most comprehensive list of video game music on Spotify that you’re going to find. I plan on updating this guide frequently as new soundtracks are released, so keep an eye on it if you want to stay up to date.

I’ve also added another section at the bottom for video game tribute music – material that isn’t officially related to a specific game. It’s good stuff, so check it out! You can also check out my massive list of streaming music websites if you’d like to try something other than Spotify.

Official Video Game Soundtracks

Here’s the main playlist – the official video game soundtracks. All of these soundtracks are officially related to the game they represent.

Feel free to subscribe to the list from your Spotify account, as I’ll try to keep it updated as best I can.

Video Game Tribute Albums

These are albums that aren’t soundtracks for specific games, but that are still related to gaming in some way. Some are tributes to specific games, some are compilations, and some are covers. Since they don’t belong to a specific game, I won’t list them all out. I figure most people looking for a list will be looking for a specific game they like. However, you can easily see the whole list just by playing this playlist and checking it out in your Spotify client.

As I mentioned above, I plan to keep adding to these playlists as new game soundtracks are released on Spotify.

Lastly, I’d like to extend thanks to the sources I used to create this list. Aside from simply searching Spotify for game soundtracks (which isn’t very efficient), I used:

  1. Thanks for the mention, keep an eye on the videogamesounds.blogspot.ie as I have not given up on it yet :)

    • I certainly will! You’ve done a great job finding lots of soundtracks. Now if more game companies would just put their music on Spotify…

    • Damn, dude! You’ve got a ton of stuff I didn’t see the first time around! I thought the playlists I had found earlier were as big as it gets.

I’ll update the list as soon as I can with the new albums I found and credit you in the changelog. Thanks! :)
