Tell you what, holmes – I’m going to be completely honest with you.
I’m completely and totally aware that a lot of the music I’ve been reviewing lately isn’t really study music.
Sure, maybe I can study to it, but it’s really not. So here’s what I’m going to do. I really like reviewing music, and I don’t want to stick to just reviewing softer stuff that’s good for studying. With that in mind, I’m going to start doing a separate series that reviews and features music for other activities like working out, partying, chopping down trees, and running from the cops on a Friday night.
To start this series off (which doesn’t have a name yet because I can’t be bothered to think of one and because I love half-assing stuff), I’ve put together a playlist of some awesome pump-up songs. This is basically my perpetual workout playlist; it’s filled with songs that make me want to go life something heavy or do something cool.
I’ve got some well known bands in here, including Thousand Foot Krutch, Anberlin, and Lostprophets, so you may recognize some of this. I also included some lesser-known groups who are just as awesome, such as In Oceans, Madina Lake, and Abingdon Boys School.
So yeah – that’s about all I have to say. I’ll let the music speak for me now. Give it a listen and let me know what you think! Just don’t start moshing too hard if you’re still at your internship. 😉
