Remember that Adobe CS5.5 giveaway we ended about a week ago? Well, if you thought that prize was good, get a load of this…
As of yesterday, Adobe opened the doors of their huge Imagination Challenge. Designed to kick off the school year with a bang, this contest will get students’ creative juices flowing by allowing them to submit media created with Adobe products to an online gallery.
Things in the gallery – digital artwork, video, and anything else – will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges and also by other students. The payoff?
Yep, Adobe is offering up 5 grand prizes of $10,000 each, as well as 36 $550 prizes for runners-up to the winners. Imagine paying off a big chunk of your loans just for making something cool in Photoshop…
The contest is split into four voting periods, which are:
- First: 8/21/11 – 9/3/11
- Second: 9/4/11 – 9/17/11
- Third: 9/18/18 – 10/1/11
- Fourth: 10/2/11 – 10/15/11
“How do I win this thing?”
It’s pretty simple, actually. You just need to submit something created with an Adobe product – Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Premiere Pro… whatever. You can see my submission here if you’d like some inspiration.
If you don’t have any Adobe products with which to create your stellar masterpiece, you can get a 30-day trial of any and all of them – all the trials are fully functional.
Still, if you’re a student, you may want to think about buying one of the Creative Suites. The discount you get as a student is insane, and the software is really useful. I do a lot with Adobe products (especially Photoshop), so I can attest to how useful they are for students.
Adobe is also giving away a couple of free gifts to students buying CS5.5 editions. If you pick one up, you’ll get a free laptop sleeve and a set of portable speakers. See as (in my opinion at least) the software itself is more than worth the price, this is a pretty sweet deal. You can find out more on Adobe’s website.
So what are you waiting for?
Start photoshopping that picture of your grandma as a ninja. You could just win big on it.
