Hi, I’m Thomas Frank. I’m an author, YouTuber, and speaker – but mostly I’m a geek. Hence the name of this website.
During my freshman year of college in 2010, I applied to become a writer at another prominent college hacks blog. In what my 19-year-old self would have called a “bummer”, I was rejected… which turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened.
Undeterred by the rejection, I decided to start my own blog. I called it College Info Geek – partly because I was a Management Information Systems major (hardy har har), but mostly because I didn’t want to spend much time thinking of a name. I had articles to write!
Nine years later, College Info Geek is one of the web’s largest sources of information on how to study effectively, land jobs and internships, and excel in college. The site is visited by over two million students each year, and has also spawned a successful podcast and a YouTube channel with over 1.3 million subscribers.
And that growth definitely isn’t all thanks to me. Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with an amazing team that has helped turn College Info Geek into what is – in my humble opinion – the best resource for students looking to do better in high school, college, and beyond (but of course, there’s always room for improvement!)
